The Glimmerglass Festival posted a photo: Before the show this afternoon, I spotted these boys practicing somesoccer moves in front of the theater. This is not an uncommon sight,with many picnickers bringing activities to enjoy the Festival groundsand the lovely summer weather. You can see some patrons gathering infront of the theater to browse our gift shop and pick up some snacks atthe concession stand.William Brown The Glimmerglass Festival posted a photo: The young artists presents special performances including the Meet Me at the Pavilion series and Arias and Asides concerts during the summer. They select some of their favorite pieces of opera and musical theater to present the audience. Today there wasa welding seminar held in the scene shop for people to learn how toweld. I had the honor of attending and trying my own hand at it. Thehelmets have tinted glass in them, many times more dark than yourordinary pair of sunglasses. This is used so you can look at the weldwithout damaging your eyesight. Here you see MIchael demonstrating someof the more advanced welding techniques for some of the stage ops.William Brown The Glimmerglass Festival posted a photo: The other day, I was going around campus taking photos of some preshowactivities when I came across this view. I had been searching for a goodway to get a photograph of people under the trees picnicking, but it wasalways tough because the background would always be blown out if Iexposed for the picnickers. I then came up on this scene and knew thatit would turn out if I made them into semi-silhouettes against thebright background. The part that really strikes me though is how thetree trunks divide the image into four different scenes, each telling astory.William Brown The Glimmerglass Festival posted a photo:
