By Car
If you're interested in the scenic drive along New York State Route
20, or in exploring the quiant villages, rolling hills, and breathtaking
views in and around Cooperstown, we recommend traveling by car.
FROM THE EAST (Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Boston):
Travel west on NYS Thruway I-90 and exit at 25A. Travel west on
I-88 for 5 miles to Duanesburg exit 24. Travel west on Route 20
for 45 miles, turn left onto Route 80 South; two miles to the Alice
Busch Opera Theater.
FROM THE WEST (Toronto, Buffalo, Rochester,
Syracuse)
Travel east on NYS Thruway I-90 and exit at 30 (Herkimer/Mohawk).
Travel south on Route 28 for 12 miles, turn left onto Route 20 East
(9 miles). Turn right onto Route 80 South; two miles to the Alice
Busch Opera Theater.
FROM THE SOUTH (New York
City)
Take the Garden State Parkway north to I-87 to Albany. Travel west

FROM NEW YORK CITY
There are two easy and direct ways to get to Cooperstown from
New York City: drive or take the bus.
Adirondack Trailways has two departures daily (and three
on weekends) from the Port Authority bus terminal to the heart of
Cooperstown. The bus arrives within easy walking distance of many
places to stay. The opera runs a trolley service to all performances
at the theater from the Otesaga Hotel, available to all opera patrons.

Getting Around
Cooperstown
Parking in Cooperstown
Parking in Cooperstown is limited. A trolley is available from free
parking areas on Routes 28 and 80 just outside the town limits and
in Cooperstown. All day pass available (adults $3, children 12 and
under $1). Trolleys run in 20 minute intervals daily from 8:30 a.m.
to 9:00 p.m. (the last week of June to Labor Day). For more information

Trolley Service to the Opera
Now you can take the Cooperstown Trolley from The Otesaga Resort
Hotel to performances at Glimmerglass Opera. Round-trip tickets
($5) are available in advance at the Glimmerglass Opera Ticket Office
at 18 Chestnut Street, the ticket kiosk at the Alice Busch Opera
Theater, or onboard the trolley.
Free parking is available at The Otesaga
Resort Hotel for pick-up and arrival.
Please note: The Trolley will run for every
performance EXCEPT those on National Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend
(July 27 - 31, 2006).
